A 32 year old Skidegate man has now been arrested in connection to the suspicious death investigation that began earlier this week on Haida Gwaii.
Wednesday, Daajing Giids RCMP reported that a vehicle struck a pedestrian who later died from his injuries.
Detachment commander Sergeant Chris Manseau states that investigators worked around the clock in order to ensure charge approval and successful prosecution.
North District Major Crime maintains conduct of the investigation and the Daajing Giids RCMP are making extra patrols to speak with community members and alleviate fears.
As such, members of the community should expect to see an increased police presence for the next few days.
