A recap was recently publicly released by the City of Prince Rupert, detailing the major events that happened at the most recent City Council Meeting.
There were three total presentations and one of them saw the City’s staff provide a brief update on what was going on with some developing design work in Mariners Park.
Prince Rupert City Council also got a presentation from Community Futures, who were alongside several local business owners in order to request that council help them address the shortage in the local workforce.
The shortage mainly stems from the recent changes in immigration policy, and several of those businesses relied on both student and foreign workers for a sizable chunk of their workforce, with that number reportedly being around 30 to 50 percent.
