The District of Kitimat, like several other Northwestern BC communities did not that long ago, has begun promoting what is known as their Business Façade Improvement Program.
This program, which is being funded by the Northern Development Initiative Trust, will allow for local businesses to apply for funding that can cover some of the costs of exterior improvements.
Any businesses to get approval to receive funding can get up to $5,000 in total or cover up to 50 percent of their project’s total cost.
Features that are eligible to be improved by the program’s funds include new siding, exterior lighting, building signage, accessibility improvements and a few others.
