In their most recent City Council meeting, one of the more prominent subjects that the City of Terrace’s elected officials discussed was the matter of the Kin Hut Building.
The main talking point surrounding the hut was what could happen if they approved a recently proposed project that would delay the demolition of the former World War 2 army hospital by another year and allow the Terrace and District Museum Society to conduct a structural assessment.
Several Councilors were not in favor of the project since the Museum Society is hoping to avoid getting financial support from the City to do this project, and that didn’t seem possible to do in the opinion of some Councilors.
And while some others were in favor of the project getting approved, the final vote determined that the demolition will go ahead as scheduled.
