The Town of Smithers is advertising a special week at the end of the month that will see them put an emphasis on making sure that the local area is clean.
The week starting on April 28th and lasting until May 2nd has been labelled as Spring Cleanup Week and it will see the Town pick up all extra residential garbage on regularly scheduled garbage days.
Although there are some conditions that need to be met as garden pruning must be bundled & tied, and no longer than 4 feet while they will also not pick up items like compost materials, recyclables, paint, tires and batteries.
The aforementioned compostable materials such as leaves and grass clippings can be dropped off year round at the Works Yard compost site, located at 2888-19th Avenue.
